Muir of Ord Golf Club is an interesting heathland/moorland course just 15 minutes from Inverness. The heather, gorse and tight springy turf all combine to give this course it’s flowing, colourful feel through a naturally twisting landscape.
Panoramic views of the area are there to be enjoyed especially from the remains of medieval manor house at the 13th green. The 11th tee is a good spot to see red squirrels and deer as the move through the course or red kites, buzzards and migrating geese overhead.
The course is 5542 yards from the medal tees, 5229 from the yellow tees and 5128 from the reds.
The course is designed to be enjoyed by golfers of all standards, from beginners up to experienced players and, although it is classed as a short by modern standards, its small well-guarded greens require accuracy in shot making.

She ensured we were in the Old Course balloting-system and that we were also checked in for the Old Course singles daily lottery. I was fortunate to secure two opportunities to play the Old Course. Nicola went out her way many times, including traveling back to pick me up from another course to ensure I made my Old Course check in time. She also meet up with me on the 18th tee to follow me in while taking pictures of a very memorable experience. ProScotGolf provides exceptional customer service and value.
